On Friday 30th September we took a trip to Dromore Park in order to study different types of trees and leaves. The first part of our trip was to try and recognise different trees from their leaves, each group collected different leaf samples and then we took rubbings of them. The second part of the study was to try and establish if a tree with a large trunk would have larger leaves than a tree with a smaller trunk. We selected the two trees for our study and then using string we measured the circumference of both trees. Next we collected 20 leaves from each tree. When we arrived back at school we traced the leaves onto squared paper in order to work out the area.
