on Thursday 19th January our hockey team travelled to Portadown to play in the Mid Ulster Division 1 Tournament. The girls put on a fantastic display, winning all of their groups games. A place was now secured in the semi finals against group 4 winners Armstrong Primary. The semi-final did not get off to the best of starts with the girls conceding 2 goals and finishing the first half 2-nil down. The girls however showed great belief and resolve & shortly into the 2nd half they had got one of the goals back, they continued to put pressure on Armstrong & Anna White scored the equaliser with 12 seconds remaining in the game. The semi-final finished with a draw setting up Penalty strokes to see who would continue into the final. Captain Anna White and vice captain Charlotte Bradfield led from the front and stepped up to take the 1st two penalties & with Armstrong missing their last two we were through to face Maralin Primary School in the final. The final proved to be a much less stressful affair, the girls played their best game of the tournament and came away deserved winners with a score line of 3-0. The whole team had a fantastic tournament and we now have our first silverware of the season, well done to the entire team.
