We carried out a fair test to show us the importance of wearing a bicycle helmet to protect our heads when riding bikes and scooters.
We placed two eggs into two plastic cups. We used a toilet roll tube to standardise the height that the battery was dropped onto the eggs. One egg was uncovered and the other egg covered with a protection of padding covered with a hard plastic disk, pretending to be a bicycle helmet.
The unprotected egg cracked whenever the battery was dropped.
The protected egg remained intact when the battery was dropped onto it.
