We have been learning all about different materials and their properties in primary one. We had lots of fun exploring; Wool, wood, glass, plastic and metal through our play based learning. We made our own wool wrappings and completed our own wood rubbings, exploring texture and where we discovered how to find the age of a piece of wood.
We had great fun exploring what objects are made from in the 'Tinkering Workshop.' We also completed an experiment to investigate which items float and which sink in water. We worked with our friends to explore which objects around our classroom were magnetic using jumbo magnets. Have a look at what we found!!
While learning about each new material, we have been learning some super science words to describe different materials such as ; transparent, opaque, translucent, natural and man-made.
